This privacy statement applies both to the online and offline collection of personal information during your interactions with DIGI-STEEL B.V. For example, collecting your data when you visit our website, use our products or services, subscribe to our newsletters, fill in a contact form or quotation form, have contact with our customer service and/or parts & consumables, and so on.

This privacy statement also applies to DIGI-STEEL-related content i.e. advertisements of products or services that we (or a third party on our behalf) may display on third-party websites, platforms and applications (“Third Party Sites”) based on your user information.

Purpose of data collection

Your personal data are collected for the following reasons:

  • To enter into an agreement with you or your company.
  • For service purposes: To provide you with personalized services by contacting you and answering questions you have asked through our support, parts & consumables and customer service department.
  • For development purposes: to be able to optimize our site and make it more user-friendly.
  • For marketing purposes: besides the website as a means of informing you, we also use your data to send e-mails that are in line with your wishes and interests and to send surveys for feedback on events in which you have participated.
  • To contact you about products and services that you have requested from us or that may be of interest to you.
  • Linking and analyzing cookies from our websites to customer data known to us in order to customize the content of our communication to you as best as we can.
  • Conducting market research to improve our business operations, services and products.
  • Complying with legal obligations, settling disputes and enforcing our rights and agreements.

Data we collect

In this privacy statement your ‘personal data’ is understood to mean: information or parts of information with which you can be identified. This can be personal data provided directly by you, but it can also be personal data entered by authorised employees of your organisation (administrators). For the above purposes, DIGI-STEEL processes personal data including your name, gender, address, email address, telephone number, function, department and IP address. We only use personal data that you personally provided or which has clearly been provided to us in order to be processed. These personal details may, for example, have been provided by you when filling in forms (newsletter, contact or quotation forms) on our website or by contacting us personally by e-mail in which you have provided your details.

We also use Google Analytics to track website visitors and to generate reports on the use of the website www.digi-steel.com. We have accepted Google's data processing agreement. We do not allow Google to use information obtained by Analytics for other Google services.

In addition to Google Analytics, this website uses ActiveCampaign (AC). ActiveCampaign is a marketing and automation tool which we for example use for site tracking to evaluate and improve our site. Furthermore, we use ActiveCampaign to communicate with you via email. We use it to better understand how people interact with our site and to see their journey through the website. All this information personally identifies you to us, but only if you have opened an email or link sent to you from AC. We have accepted ActiveCampaign's data processing agreement.

Terms of storage of personal data

We do not store personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes mentioned above, unless we are obliged by law to store these personal data for a longer period of time. If your personal data are no longer necessary, they will be anonymized or deleted after 60 days.

Exercising your privacy rights

Right of access, rectification, restriction or erasure of personal data
A request for inspection, rectification, restriction or erasure may be submitted to DIGI-STEEL. You can do this by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Clearly specify in the subject line that it is about privacy and a request for access, rectification, restriction or erasure. Please note that in some cases we may ask for additional information to identify you.

Right of protest
You are also entitled to protest against the processing of your personal data. If you indicate that you no longer wish to be addressed (via a particular medium), DIGI-STEEL will include you in a file to that effect and your personal data will no longer be used for these purposes. You can let us know by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Clearly indicate that this is about a privacy matter and an appeal to your right of protest on the grounds of Section 11.7(3) of the Telecommunications Act.

Right to transferability of data
You can request us to send the personal data we have about you in a computer file to you or to another organisation. You can let us know by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. Clearly indicate that this is about a privacy matter and an appeal to your right of transferability of data on the grounds of Section 20 of the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Right to object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on the basis of Article 21 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can object by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

Right to lodge a complaint with the personal data authority
If you do not agree with how we process your personal data or deal with your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you can lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Authority.

Sharing data with third parties

We may share your personal information with the following third parties: our partners (e.g. official agents, our European branches and operating sales managers and partners involved in events for which you have registered via our website www.digi-steel.com), IT service providers and mailing service providers.

Third-party websites

This privacy statement does not apply to websites of third parties that are connected to this website by means of links. We cannot guarantee that these third parties will handle your personal data securely and carefully. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of these websites before using them.

We acknowledge our responsibility to protect the personal data you entrust to us against loss, improper use or unauthorized access. DIGI-STEEL uses a variety of security technologies and organisational procedures to protect your personal data. For example, the use of firewalls and a third party that assists in monitoring personal data and preventing data leaks.

DIGI-STEEL reserves the right to make changes to this privacy statement. You are personally responsible for keeping informed about the latest version of this privacy statement. Therefore, we recommend that you check regularly whether any amendments have been made.
